This is exactly why I am hesitant to put the Netgear box in the loop at all at this point. Westell unit is still primary router with out any pass thru rules set.
#VERIZON VPN CLIENT FIREWALL PORTS 4172 TV#
Gezzz.Īt this point Client is hesitant to start work on VPN project (which, honestly is fine with me at this point.) due to 1)Outage issue they had 2)Apparently Frontier is now double billing them for FIoS, messed up their long distance service and claiming they need to send some equipment back.(?) (I don't even want to touch that issue at all and client is very understanding and honestly just wishing they could contact a human at Frontier/Verizon) and 3)Their TV box is messed up and not producing correct screen resolution/size. Will be watching thread to see what other say.Įdit: Also when she fist ordered service she told them she wanted to have VPN access and their answer was to just sell her the static IP service as that is all she would need. So at this point I am hesitant to move forward with any type of VPN honestly because of the service issues She has had so far with these folks. My Client did - She just was asking some questions like this and the service was then disconnected for about 2 weeks and then she received another Westel unit in the mail. After many calls She was able to get service restored and then sent back 'replacement' unit. Why oh why does Verizon (Or Frontier depending on what part of the country you live in.) make setting up a VPN thru one of their frikking units such a hassle? I would not recommend contacting these folks for any changes. I have heard from others that trying to setup rules to allow VPN thru those darn Westel units that can be next to impossible. What a stinking mess with these Westel units and their coax MoCA connections as I was told by Verizon tech that setting it to bridge mode would then affect the VOD stuff and that also I would need some soft of MoCA adapter thru them to even do so. One of the ideas that was shared was to just set the Westel in Bridged mode, but have same concerns that you shared about VOD and so forth. This is an outstanding post as i am dealing with the exact same issue at a client - some of which I have posted in this forum all ready.
